The Rail Surface Analyser (APT-RSA) is a portable measurement unit for the accurate quantification and evaluation of rail roughness and corrugation in compliance with ISO 3095, EN 15610 & EN 13231. The light weight, trolley based system offers a direct method to characterise the running surface by means of measurement heads (LVDT) that are sliding over the rail. The major advantage of the RSA is its capability to take long and continuous track measurements at walking pace.
After the completion of the measurements, the data is easily downloaded to a PC via a USB connection. The user friendly and flexible software allows data output in various graphical forms and automatically compares the results with criteria from related standards. These measurements are gaining much importance as rail roughness and corrugation have a direct effect on the wheel/rail interaction which results in higher noise levels and higher vibration levels.
The Online Monitoring System (APT-OMS) is a versatile monitoring system which can be customized to monitor a combination of parameters in railway applications such as noise, vibration, temperature, speed and many more.
The Wheel flat and Out of Roundness Monitoring (APT-WORM) is a way side system for low cost monitoring of passing vehicles. Wheel defects such as flats and out of roundnesses are registered and stored together with vehicle data and speed in a central database. Defects are reported to rolling stock maintenance crews.
The Weigh In Motion system (APT-WIM) offers affordable way side monitoring of the vehicle weight during vehicle passage. Data can be stored in a database and reported.
