DIO 2000 Compact Solid Axle Ultrasonic Testi ng Work Station is developed and designed to test semi-automatically solid axles of rolling stock, without removal of axles from vehicles, in service work shops. The full system consists of integrated PC based multi - channel ultrasonic system, Industrial Computer includes touch screen display and integrated keyboard, operating part and mechanical module with probe holders.
The system reduces the testing time, ensures repeatability and thus maximizes testing productivity. All
detected cracks can be stored in database. The system complies with EN 12668-1.

General:
The mechanical module is constructed to test the axles
from axle head after removing a junction box. The
probe holder can be equipped by 3 transducers with
diff erent removable wedges to scan the axle in different
angles. Simply interchangeable axle rings allow testing
different types of axles. The ultrasonic data are synchronized
by encoder processed in real time.

System:
The full equipment is compact PC based integrated system.
Ultrasonic channels are intended as independent
ultrasonic plug-in units with their own microprocessor
control and signal processing.
Application:
The system, using 3 probes, scans the axles from a forehead
of the axle and thus covers tree sectors of the axle
as shown on bellow picture. In two scans (left and right
side) is inspected complete axle. The software of the
system automatically evaluates defects in axles. False
echos from geometry of the axles are masked. Results
from both scans are matched up together and saved in
database.
