Service is our lineCompany information
The Leipzig tram system is one of the largest in Germany. IFTEC - founded in 2005 - continues the tradition of tram maintenance started in 1896. As a joint venture of the Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB) GmbH and Siemens AG, we are responsible for the maintenance of the complete system of vehicles and permanent way of the tram system.
With approximately 500 employees we achieve an annual turnover greater than € 40 million.
IFTEC has extensive experience in all phases of the maintenance of the components of tram infrastructure and railed vehicles. It has thus played a crucial role in the transformation process of the LVB group from a transport company before the political change into a modern forward-looking mobility service provider. Alongside the refurbishment of the technical facilities, the maintenance processes have been fundamentally changed and the effectiveness increased several fold.
Our effectiveness that is based on deep understanding of the process, extensive technical expertise and high staff commitment is also being used to purposefully expand our customer base and product portfolio. We have successfully used our maintenance capabilities for a rail infrastructure in the industrial railway sector. We are working together with Siemens AG on the maintenance and accident repair of metro and urban railway vehicles.
Meanwhile our services and products have become known far beyond Leipzig. We are happy with the interest generated by transport operators throughout Germany. In the meantime we have similary established fixed business relationships with several European transport operators.
