Exhibitor profile

PKP Broad Gauge Railway Line (in short PKP LHS) has been operating since July 1, 2001 and belongs to the PKP Group. Railway line No. 65 (the so-called broad gauge track) is the longest railway line in Poland with a rail gauge of 1520 mm on which freight transport is carried out. The company operates as an integrated structure, as a manager and freight carrier, offering comprehensive transport, forwarding and logistics services. The 400 km long line connects the railway border crossing between Ukraine and Poland, Izow / Hrubieszów and Silesia, where it ends in Sławków.
Attributes of the LHS line are transport without the necessity to reload goods on the border and the ability to run heavy sets of trains.
We develop our potential:
• almost EUR 200 million by 2025 for infrastructure investments and rolling stock investments,
• increasing the maximum speed up to 100 km / h depending on the gross weight of the train
• increasing the maximum length and gross weight of trains and line capacity
• increasing the storage and reloading capacity of the LHS Reloading Terminal in Szczebrzeszyn
• construction of the Transhipment Terminal at Wola Baranowska LHS station with the necessary for implementing the project infrastructure
The company PKP LHS has the possibility of alternative intermodal transport on routes from Asia to Europe - through the South-West corridor which runs from India to Poland and the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM) Middle Corridor - connecting China with Europe.
The South-West transport corridor is a new transcontinental logistics project of the Ukrainian, Azerbaijani, Georgian, Iranian and Polish railways. The purpose of cooperation is to carry out transport between the EU and Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan through Iran up to India. This route is 2-3 times faster than the sea route and shorter by more than 1000 km from the alternative land corridor running through the territory of Russia.
In turn, the International Trans-Caspian Transport Route (TMTM) - Middle Corridor, which connects China with Europe is shorter than the sea route and much cheaper than air transport. The corridor fits in the needs of freight forwarders and cargo handlers who want to avoid long-distance sea transport, skip queues for loading in Asian ports, efficiently cross the border with the European Union and ensure the delivery of "just-in-time" cargo.
PKP Broad Gauge Railway Line became the first Polish company co-creating Middle Corridor.
The goal of both projects is to test new railway routes between European and Asian countries and to check all technical and procedural requirements that appear on the route. As a result, the prospect of launching new railway routes to Iran, India and China is opening, which is important for the plans for development of Polish export.
The main role of transport corridors is carriage of goods between the EU, Asia and the Middle East:
  • 1 transport 1 consignment note 1 rate,
  • transport of 20 'and 40' containers,
  • delivery of goods "door to door",
  • carriage in 1520 mm wagons without handling.
